Going Acoustic in 2000

After the release of "Sudden & Merciless Joy," it became difficult to hold onto a rhythm section, so we decided to go acoustic--on the condition that we add an instrumentalist unusual by rock standards. We found 19 year-old cellist Elisabeth Babcock. The new sound was received well. Investors loaned the project money, and long time friend Mike Davis decided to produce us as a raw, live acoustic trio. The album is a little jagged around the edges, but selected by Performing Songwriter Magazine's DIY--praised as "unique."
